These are 2.5 volt flasher bulbs. Use one flasher bulb per every 50 lights (or single circuit) to create a "flashing" effect. This will make all lights blink on that circuit (light set goes through a steady blinking ON and OFF). Contains 3 clear FLASHER mini light replacement bulbs.

Note: bulbs come naked without a base. To install, simply remove old bulb from original base by straightening the wires then slide the new 2.5 volt bulb in place and bend the wires back.

I got the flasher bulbs to replace the flasher bulb that came with the light set i bought years ago; it had froze up in the on mode and to get it to start flashing, i had to flick the flasher bulb to get it to start flashing. I didnt like that, i wanted the light set to work properly and buying a pack of new flasher bulbs was less expensive than buying a new light set. However, if the cost of the bulbs had been even remotely close to the cost of a new light set, i'da bought a new light set, but it wasn't.

Advantages: 1. Having flasher bulbs on a christmas tree saves on electric because the bulbs only draw electric when they are on. 2. They are better from a fire-safety stand point because bulbs that are not constantly on do not build up heat.

Disadvantages: If you are reading a book, watching a tv program or trying to sleep, the flashing of the bulbs in your peripheral vision may be annoying/distracting.

The bulbs are excellent replacement bulbs that are rather hard to find. I replaced the bulbs that had burned out and these have worked the whole season. I'm pleased with the overall service and the product.

Advantages: Easier to find than running around town trying to locate the product in a store.

Disadvantages: A little expensive since shipping costs come into play.
