By the time Department 56 introduced the North Pole series in 1990, it had 5 other villages under it scope.  The Department 56 North Pole series started it's line with three buildings: Santa's Workshop, Elf Bunkhouse and Reindeer Barn.  Fast forward to today and the line is many times larger. 

Along the way the Department 56 North Pole series has featured exclusive buildings with some of the best known children's toy companies, including Lego, Disney and many others.
